 WAKE UP CALL!

Well, I felt kinda bad that I have neglected this thing so much in the past couple of months! I truthfully only started this thing so I could speak to a certain individual who will remain nameless (hmm, *cough* caleb* cough*).

So here is BLOG POST!

Something really funny happened to me on the way into work the other day. I have to be there at a possibly insane time (I start work at 6am, which means I have to be up at 4.30 to catch the 5am train). So I caught the train at 5am. I am usually a little groggy at this time of the morning and conversation is not my strong suit. I hopped on the train and sat in my usual seat. There usually arent too many people on the train because most people are sane and normal. At Newport station a man got on my carriage and sat just in front of me. Everything was fine until the train started moving. He then proceeded to sing at the top of his lungs. But it wasnt just ordinary singing. He would sing a line and then comment on that line... for example... at one stage he was singing waltzing matilda (for those of you who dont know, it is a very old australian song about a traveller trying to steal a sheep) And the song goes...

WALTZING MATILDA WALTZING MATILDA, YOU'LL COME A WALTZING MATILDA WITH ME... (and then he would comment) No, I dont want to come a waltzing matilda with you, i dont even know you... who goes a waltzing anyway... i'm no professional dancer... (and then he would continue singing) AND HE SANG AS HE WATCHED AND WAITED TILL HIS BILLY BOILED... (and again with the commenting)... I bet he wasnt as good a singer as me... YOU'll COME A WALTZING MATILDA WITH ME... but I already said I didnt want too...

And this went on for 40 minutes. With countless different tunes.

By about the 25minute mark everyone on the carriage had given up on the disapproving looks and just laughed to themselves. I really feel sorry for the guy sitting next to him, I made eye contact with the guy a couple of times and we did the whole 'well theres nothing we can do about it' shrug and gave a little giggle.

Not one of the most conventional ways to wake up in the morning but by far one of the most interesting I have had so far.

 I got a nickname!

wow, I really feel loved now!! POH has given me a nickname. So henceforth I shall be known as AussieChick. YAY!

Ok, seeing as I was tagged I guess I have to write five sayings that have always stuck with me...

1. "Courage is not the absense of fear, but more the decision that something is more important." (however corney this sounds, its actually from the Princess Diaries movie. I dont know, it was said and it always just seemed so true... it stuck).

2. "who says I'm dumb?" (this is from my father. apparently it was a catchphrase in some old tv show, but he uses it to insult me whenever I happen to be a little slow on the uptake of some conversation. Sadly, this is said quite a bit )

3. "The time has come my little friend to talk of many things, of shoes and ships, of ceiling wax, of cabbages and kings." (Alice in wonderland... I quote it whenever an awkward silence emerges in conversations)

4. "Chances are what you feel is like everyone else... you can always carry on." (from one of my favourite songs... incidently called 'chances are')

5. Those wonderful three little words (spoken by all who I hold dear... with one in particular )

Cheers everyone!
